And, as we said, were not Orbitz® or Expedia® or Travelocity®.
Orbitz® says they represent 40,000 hotels worldwide. Now thats a lot of hotels to be involved with. We represent fourteen of the best hotels in Oaxaca City and five on the Oaxacan Coast. We know all the hotels very well and we have the opportunity to visit each other all the time. We know the general managers, the people at the front desk, the reservations manager. We and our hotel colleagues stay in close touch with each other in order to serve you better. Its a mutual commitment weve made.
And Expedia® says that it reaches more than nine million travelers each month. Well, thats a lot of people to care about. We only reach people like you who are interested in coming to visit us here in Oaxaca. The truth is, we dont have enough rooms in Oaxaca to host 9,000,000 people in a whole year.
We dont sell advertising on our sites, we dont leave cookies on your site or ask you to sign in and become a member of something. We dont have flashing lights or banners. We make our way by doing a good job of serving you the way people used to do. We always try to be clear and direct and to practice good computer manners.
Our companies, the Oaxaca Hotel Group and Zapotec tours/ Oaxaca Tours, are made up of good hearted, hard working people both here in Oaxaca and in the United States. Thanks to the internet, our offices are in touch with each other dozens of times a day - planning for your comfortable stay.
So, were a company well suited to our destination and were a staff that understands and appreciates people who are interested in our culture.
Were a small, strong company and we can serve you well because we can act quickly and, at the same time, carefully. And whats vitally important is the spirit in which we do it; a spirit of attentiveness and basic human concern. Were really sharp where it counts and were always trying to be friendly in our approach.
And we still love Oaxaca for many of the same reasons you might. We have warm and friendly people, great food, beautiful architecture, near perfect weather and wonderful arts and crafts.
And on balmy sunny afternoons in Oaxaca when the sky is sharp and clear blue, you'll find young couples holding hands strolling through the plaza; while other couples with children walk home from the market, arms filled with fruits and vegetables and flowers. Older folks sit on the benches in the square, watching a young business person rushing ahead, shaking their heads and wondering to themselves, What's all the hurry about?
